How did TYP start? Tara Yolan Mewis kickstarted TYP in 2012 after working eight years as a television reporter and anchor with CTV News. As a journalist, Tara learned quickly how to pull the best parts from a subject, package it with clarity and deliver it in a way that it connects and engages a wide audience. This is exactly what we do at TYP today, and we do it very well. TYP has a small but mighty team of incredibly talented project planners, videographers and editors that love every bit of the video creation process. We sleep and breathe this stuff. We would eat it for breakfast if it was maple-flavoured.
At TYP, we do it all and that’s why we’re so darn affordable. We’re highly skilled in every stage of video production from concept to completion. Give us your vague, lopsided idea with no real direction and we’ll produce something so dynamic, you’ll look like a stone-cold hero. Your arms will hurt from the rounds of flying high-fives. That’s a promise.
Where do we work? TYP is a division of ENGCOMP Engineering and Computing Services. We share a big, beautiful office on Schuyler Street as well as management, accounting and administrative staff. This helps keep TYP’s projects organized and books balanced. Essentially, we are tech-artists with a strong business backing. That’s rare and we will flaunt it.
